Brief History of the Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics was established in June 1995. The department of Mathematics has a working area about 400 sq. ft. It has one full-time teacher as it is taught only to First and Second year classes of B.Sc. It started functioning with few students but later on the strength of students increased. It progressed rapidly with increase in number of students. At present, the department of mathematics has 51 students for B.Sc. I and 26 students for B.Sc. II

Highlights/ Features of the Department:

The faculty of the department has an experience of 28 years. He has completed a UGC sanctioned Minor Research Project (M.R.P.) entitled ‘Applications of Mathematical and Statistical Formulae in Biodiversity Analysis in Western Ghat’ in 2015. In terms of resources and infra-structure too, the department has enough latest audio-visual equipments at its disposal including, LCD projector with screen. The department has a good collection of PPTs. Also it provides a forum to the students for co-curricular activities such as orals, tutorials, group discussions etc.
